The Groundskeeper I provides manual labor functions for the Parks Department and works collaboratively with all other staff to perform department operations and ensure that they meet the principles and objectives of the City of Rogers.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers. Ability to perform these mathematical skills using money and other forms of measurement.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out simple multi-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with limited variables.
CDL
Mental alertness and adaptability to office and field area work routines. Equivalent to four years high school or GED, with particular emphasis during high school in office skills, shop skills, or others, plus 7 to 11 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The Rogers Parks and Recreation Department oversees over 400 acres of land, containing 24 parks, 26 athletic fields, and over 70 miles of Greenways and Trails System. As the population of our city grows, so does the need for more parks, land, and athletic facilities throughout the city. The Parks Commission oversees the acquisition of additional land and the long-term direction of the parks system.
